Melvyn Lubega is a Senior Partner at E3 Capital, where he plays a leadership role across the firm’s investment activities. He brings a combination of entrepreneurial, investment and governance experience, with a particular focus on scaling technology-enabled businesses across Africa and globally.

He was part of the founding team of one of South Africa’s first unicorns, contributing to its international expansion and capital raising from leading global investors. He subsequently served as Head of Africa for a leading European venture capital firm and as a member of its executive committee, where he helped shape the firm’s Africa strategy and regional investment approach.

Melvyn’s experience spans both the private and public sectors. He has held roles at Boston Consulting Group and Goldman Sachs, and has also served in board roles on listed companies as well as senior public sector advisory roles.

He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cape Town and two master’s degrees from the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors and remains a BoyScout at heart.
